90s popular actress Sonam has resurfaced in the news after some 26 years. Sonam who is known for working in superhit films like Tridev, Vishwatma and Aakhri Adalat recently tied the knot for the second time after she sought divorce last year from her first husband Rajiv Rai. Rajiv Rai, in his own right, was a successful filmmaker of the 90s who made many popular films including Gupt, Vishwatma and Mohra.
Sonam, 44, made headlines when she recently did Nikaah with Puducherry-based doctor Murli Poduval. Interestingly, it was Murli who helped her seek the divorce from her first husband with whom she got married in 1991 and thereafter bid adieu to films altogether.
Not many know that after a few years of marriage, Sonam and Rajiv left India for Los Angeles and then Switzerland after a deadly attack happened on Rajiv by an underworld don right outside his office in Mumbai. A few years back, Sonam and Rajiv had shifted back to Mumbai. Reports suggest that while the two remained married, they were living separately since 2001.
